- Internet Protocol (IP): This protocol is responsible for addressing and routing packets of data so that they can travel across networks and reach the correct destination. IP defines the IP addresses used to identify devices on the network.
Together, TCP/IP allows computers and devices to communicate over diverse hardware and setups, making it a fundamental technology for the operation of the internet.
